WOYWW 170

WOYWW 170
A phenomena which occurs each Wednesday.
The brainchild of Julia of Stamping Ground providing an opportunity for the crafters of the world to own up to the state of their crafting work desks...... tidy or mess it's all there. It's also a chance for the rest of the world to enjoy a snoop. Join in if you dare!
My work room is staying reasonably tidy considering all that I've been doing. Just a few leftovers waiting to be tidied away from the workshop I gave at Vicky Stampers on Saturday. It was a lovely day with the members of this fab group and below you will see a close up of few of my examples from the box of my samples which are on the desk. the cards. A secret message fold and a camera lens amongst them. I'll show them in detail in another post. I was so busy that I forgot to take pictures of the lovely ones made by the group on the day.
My other work desk has been the floor as I am making a copy of a crochet waistcoat for my nephew's wife. The old one she's had for 20 plus years is falling to bits and here you can see the new sections laid out ready to be linked up.
This below was a chance encounter, a magic moment I must share. I came across this wonderful sight as I passed through our city centre. The man was there to promote a special educational centre and uses this beautiful owl, which he bred himself, to help give people confidence.
This is Pippin and I was so thrilled to see him up close and to also be allowed to stroke him.
I hope to call in on more WOYWW blogs this week now that the Brighton Belles have returned home to the South Coast. It was a busy, hectic but lovely time and I really miss them.
Results for my blog candy draw are on the previous post .....still waiting to hear from 4 winners......is your name there?

Hi Jo - well I am really late this week (84) and still finding my way around this MacBook - it is so different. Thanks for a lovely workshop, still not done anything more but think I will get on with the telescopic cards and have done Sarah's hidden message one (so there is something I forgot).
Your blog entry reminded me of the time I saw the owls in Llandudno, they are such beautiful creatures. Did you know Lorraine's brother has a hawk which he takes into Wigan on a regular basis?
Gosh, this is an email not a comment. Thanks for sharing.
Hugs, Neet xx

Hiya, its been a while but it's good to be back and taking a peek at your creative world again. Looking busy and fun. Hope you have a good week too. Pippin is so lovely. I'll be in Liverpool this weekend dropping eldest off at Uni so looking forward to it, definitely Another Place is calling my name. If you're not busy Monday AM, perhaps a quick meet and greet somewhere before I head off home? Email me if you want.

Love, love, love the owl. I had a similar encounter with Morag the eagle owl when I invited an 'owl man' to come to my nursery. I couldn't believe how heavy she was.
But on to your craft. I love doing crochet, and that waistcoat will be beautiful. And a lovely selection of card too. I did a secret message one earlier this year. First time for ages, but they are fun aren't they?

The sample cards look great, and that crocheted waistcoat is going to be amazing, but I'm going to have to admit that the owl is my absolutely favourite thing here for this week! What a wonderful encounter... Happy WOYWW!

It's fantastic. Amazed and delighted to see a tidy desk haha. i would have thought after a workshop it'd be overflowing. It definitely would be if it was me lol. Pxx

Sorry I missed your workshop Jo and I was so looking forward to it. Nice tidy desk, but for how long I wonder.
Love owls and would have been just as thrilled as you. Was lucky enough to stroke a barn owl once in Llandudno. they were promoting the Owl Trust - a stunningly beautiful bird.

Hi (again). Yes I have your little bag of leaflets safe and have added a few myself (dog friendly pubs being one). Hope to get to Alby Crafts but hoping it so nice we spend most of our time walking on warm sand and seeking shade in leafy woods.
See you when we get home.

What a magical meeting it must have been! That owl looks so kind. I love the crocheting too, I wish I could do it, but for some reason I just can't seem to remember how to crochet for more than 5 minutes...

Have a happy WOYWW!

Such a gorgeous owl! And your crocheted piece is beautiful. I crochet every winter, but my hands have taken a beating this past year and not sure what they can handle as far as a skinny needle in my hand. I still will try though. dani 137

Pippin looks a fine bird..and doesn't he know it. Great pose for the camera!! It always amazes me how incredibly soft owl feathers are!
Glad your workshop went ok, have never heard of a camera lens card before! And I'm still in awe of anyone who can wield a crochet hook with ease...I just haven't got the right gene :)

Glad your workshop went well, all those makes sound very intriguing.
What delicate work your crochet is, it looks like lace. Crochet, like knitting is a mystery to me.
Love the owl too.

Definitely not the sort of thing you expect to see in the High Street Jo, but what a lovely Owl. I can remember stroking a big Snowy Owl at a show once and couldn’t believe how soft it’s feathers were.
Loving your beautiful crocheting. I’ve not done any for years apart from the odd flower but it seems to be making a big comeback, as does knitting.

Happy Crafting!

That stash of cards looks impressive - I like the green one a lot and will come back to see it closer.
And the owl - what a sweetie! You know how much I adore owls - they are gorgeous. This one has such a cute face.

Your workshop sounds interesting and the cards are interesting. I'll be back to look in more detail. I love the owl - fancy stroking him. He looks just slightly dishevelled I think. The waistcoat is very intricate, and I bet it looks great over bright, contrasty shirts.

Jo, my email address is on my profile page so hope that will be okay.

Oh bless, but Pippin is delightful! We have an owl visit Salisbury every week, he sits on a charity stall (might be one of the local swanneries) and he gets quite alarmed whenever a dog goes past!

Great desk - and well done with the crochet, you are a brave lady indeed.... I'm not quite up to that level yet (and never will be...LOL).

Thanks for stopping by!
