Holly, Poppies and Friday Smile

I am still feeling a little uneasy admitting that after my years of never acknowledging Christmas until December arrives I have made several items in the last couple of weeks.
Here's Holly a very festive little ted>
Doesn't Holly look sad before I stuffed her?

Joining in with Annie's Smiles, although I'm a bit late, I know she doesn't mind.
This certainly made me smile.....(although if you've read my last post I'm still on cloud nine because of that lovely treat)
Nature throws some treasures and this is one that is growing in my garden right in the middle of a lavender bush. It was so lovely last night after a shower of rain ....
and this morning it had dried off and opened to reveal it's gorgeous centre. Very Georgia O'Keefe!
There's another one to follow sprouting from a crack near the front door to look forward to.
All from  free seeds on the wind!

Here's my Block of the Month swap for Diane of the cheshire quilter blog.. it's a Monkey Wrench and I do hope she likes it.
I join in the challenge each month for Diane's group and this month it was Christmas again!! Diane had set another fun project which will help stock the craft stall in September with the funds going to Hope House Hospice.

Pop over to Annie's for more smiles... it's never too late and you could add your own too.

Hi Jo, your little teddy is lovely - someone is going to treasure him/her. The poppy is gorgeous - isn't nature wonderful :) What an interesting name for your beautiful patchwork square ... I just wonder who decided that such an odd name was fitting for something so pretty. I love those little tree decorations - hope they make lots of money for such a good cause. Elizabeth xx

PS: Thanks for visiting my blog though you did visit last week's Friday Smile and not this week's. If you pop over again to today's post there's yet another couple of photos and a joke you might like. Here's the link:

How wonderful that you won the Sewing Bee and how adorable bear is after being stuffed. You make such awesome things, including your blocks each month. And of course, that poppy growing among your lavender bush is awesome. I've never seen a poppy in person, just on the internet. Love that you got the surprise.

Have a great Friday and weekend, too.

I am with you about not acknowledging Christmas too early, but making presents don't count in my book (I usually start mine in August) ;-)

Love the teddy and decorations and the flower is simply stunning.
