They must have different coats in Winter. Lovely treat, though. We went to Mere Sands and but the whole of the lake is frozen - hope those kingfishers don't die but there isn't much hope for them when there's no water... lots of lovely long tailed tits, nuthatches and all the other usual suspects but very few water birds, for obvious reasons. The good news is the red squirrels are back but we didn't see any today - will be back to check them out! Happy New Year to you.
