Velvet Hanging

I had started playing round with fabric and threads, when I noticed the Lots to Do challenge for this week is "Stitches" so I decided to finish my little hanging and enter it.
First I stamped on Velvet with Stazon Opaque white before I free machine embroidered, adding little bits and cutting tags and tails. I added some beads and a beaded hanger to finish it off.

We've had so many lovely gestures of kindness since DH has had his operation but I must admit  I was so thrilled by these beautiful roses from our next door neighbour that I wanted to share them.
Today is our 44th wedding Anniversary and I am so pleased that DH is able to walk up with me  to our local Chinese Restaurant tonight for a celebratory meal out. We are lucky in so many ways.

    I'm really miffed cos I can't see this - it looks fab in the Blogroll preview on my site but the pic won't load for me at the moment. Will have to try it again later. OOh, it's just loaded fully and it's even nicer than I first thought - gorgeous, Jo - absolutely stunning! You must be really pleased with that.

    Hope you enjoy your meal and don't get too wet. I'm so pleased Dave is able to get out and about a bit now - really good news!

    congratulations wow 44 years hope your meal is fab for you both and mad all the more special that dave is getting better and stronger everyday that he can now walk to take you out for the evening.

    Many Congratulations on your Anniversary, Jo. I hope you really enjoyed your chinese!! I think you both thoroughly deserve it.
    What beautiful roses. How lovely of your neighbour and what a gorgeous hanging. I love the way you stamp on fabric and embroidery embellish it. It looks great.
