I'm back home after a really good break on the South coast of England with some of my family. I miss them already! I loved sharing time with the little ones and it was magic crunching through the Autumn leaves with my 3 year old grandee, and being amazed at the glorious colours of the trees with her. I showed her how to make Sycamore wings fly like helicopters and she was as thrilled as I was at the memory of doing it with my two DDs when they were little.
I posted last week on my laptop whilst on holiday and the link didn't work, so despite being up at 6am with my little grandees and having a rare chance to post my earliest ever at No 13, I ended up having to repost and it became my latest ever at 144!! The dratted dongle we bought didn't dingle as it should have done and I couldn't send comments to any WOYWWers.
This week my desk is sheer mayhem as I have just dumped everything crafty that I brought home. I took 2x A4 boxes of materials to prep "Make and Takes" for upcoming shows as I had plenty of time whilst the grandees were asleep. You will notice that I brought back so much more, especially as I visited two craft shops and bought quite a bit of stash.
We managed to visit the Craft Barn in Lingfield which is a fabulous crafter's paradise with so many stamp ranges and such a good range of materials. I'll just have to pay a return visit to fill up and spend the other half of my loyalty card. Well that's my excuse and it didn't take long to become loyal to their cause!!!
That funny little character blcok stamp in them middle is a charity show find for £1.50. He looked a bit quirky and I had to rescue him and bring him home.
If you, like me, love to snoop on people's creative spaces then pop over to see lots more WOYWWers....(What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday) on our own fair Julia's Stamping Ground and you'll see the whole range from demolition sites (like mine) to the immaculately tidy ones.
The bundle of coffee stirrers are in hand for the make & take fans I'm preparing and No! I didn't help myself to them ... I was cheeky enough to ask for some and was grateful to be given them! Thanks to C**** coffee! Won't tell which branch for fear of getting the manager in trouble.
That desk will have to be cleared as I have so much to prepare for the next shows.... which leads to....a few reminders:
Port Sunlight Show next Saturday 9th Oct TICKETS ONLY and it's a SELL OUT but if you are going please drop by Stampattack where I'll be demming as we'd love to see you. There are some new Texture and Steam Punk stamps out and we're hoping my new Asian designs and Quotes will be just hot off the press.
Don't miss out... still time to sign up sign up for my Blog Candy ( on my sidebar) which is to celebrate my blog makeover created by Susie Jefferson of 1st Floor Flat. This closes 12th Oct.
If you can get to Manchester on Sunday 17th Oct put the date in your diary for Japan Day. Check out this amazing free event on my sidebar and don't miss it if you can get there. I will be exhibiting with Caz of Stampattack and we'll be selling their Japanese range of stamps, including my brand new designs. We'll also be doing "Make & Takes" so be sure to pop by.
This is the tiniest bank I've seen and it is in Afriston, one of the lovely tiny Sussex villages we visited last week. Below is the old bow windowed Post Office.
The old Star Inn which dates from the 13th Century.
The Red Lion outside is a figurehead taken by smugglers from a Dutch Warship.
Note below that the pub offers FREE weddings.... as if!
The interior of Ye Old Smugglers Inne was fascinating and dated from around the15th Century

ReplyDeleteOoh, love your photos! As for the dongle, I used to have one. If you're planning on using it somewhere in particular, it might be worth checking out the coverage in that area. Mine used to be very slow altho it did work, but I was glad when I didn't need it any more.

Hi Jo. Thank you for the snoop on your desk. The sign of a busy desk is a creative mind! *Ü* Love those photos. My fil lives in Eastbourne, so when we visit, it's lovely to go have a wander with my camera. You mentioned some dates Jo. Saturday is 9th October not 10th. ;) TFS. ~Glen~
ReplyDeleteGreat blog Jo - your photos are lovely - what a quaint place! I love that querky little character on the stamp!
ReplyDeleteJo, you always have such interesting posts. I loved the comment you left for Wendy, too. She has taken a back seat to Bleubeard and the rocking horses and appreciates your comment about her.
ReplyDeleteI'm so impressed with the photos from your trip. To put that inn in perspective, it was built before Columbus discovered America. Of course, if it had been built here, after 25 years, it would have been torn down and another larger and more modern inn built in its place!
Lots of lovely photos :0) I loved the craft barn they have loads of lovely stuff.
