WOYWW 71 & Flying Cows!

What a busy week since last WOYWW and it's getting busier as I'm prepping for Japan Day in Manchester on Sunday 17th. (details of the event on my side bar)  As it's quite boring making so many production line cards and card kits and prepping "Make & Takes", I have decamped to the coffee table in the living room. Partly so that my DH doesn't forget what I look like and also to watch TV to relieve the boredom of so much cutting and sticking.
On the table you'll see my new Craft Focus (Trade) magazine which I'm dying to find time to browse. The blue file is full of Washi paper offcuts. There are some of the Lost Coast and Crafty Individuals Ums I bought at Port Sunny... still drooling over them.
I'm also working on samples for the brand new Asian stamps I designed for Stampattack which will be launched at Japan Day. I only just received the plate and you'll see my first stamped images of them ready to be coloured and made into cards. I'm so thrilled how they have turned out as the detail is excellent, even to the tiny hairs on the poppy.
I've made about 30 cards and 50 card kits as there will be so many non crafters amongst the visitors but it doesn't look very much for all that work, here in these baskets.
Here's my workdesk in a worse than ever mess with (on the left) a box of samples for Sunday, (on the right) the basket of fan cut outs for the "Make & Takes" and lots of goodies waiting to be put away after the Port Sunlight Show.
Bemused, confused, amused about what on earth I'm on about? Then pop over to our glorious leader Julia's blog, Stamping Ground, to see so many more work desks exposed for the voyeurs of craftland.
Don't forget JAPAN DAY is on Sunday 17th see sidebar for details!
Cows Can Fly!
After sitting indoors demming all day at Port Sunlight Show we decided on some fresh air and exercise on a glorious Sunny Sunday. It was better than Summer, as it was so unexpected, so we ventured down to Otterspool Promenade on the edge of the River Mersey. Families were out enjoying the Autumn sun, people were fishing and there were so many kites flying. I discovered it was a special annual event... OSOW One Sky One World where kites are flown all over the world on the one day to promote World peace and understanding and friendship between people of all nations.
I loved this one below!

Here's the Octopus and the Elephant
This stallion's legs moved in a convincing galloping motion
I think the flying cows, below, took the biscuit and caused so much amusement.

I bet Liverpool Lou won't recognise all this from memories of the Cast Iron Shore which was there in our childhood days!! The promenade was constructed from the earth dug out to make the Mersey tunnels so many years ago it was all debris.
This one's for you Anne!
A lovely, relaxing, peaceful, happy day.

  21. I loved the beautiful photos of the beach, but those cows were the funniest. I hope you and Anne have a good time together on Sunday. It's wonderful when art friends meet up for a fun day out and about.

Those make and takes look really time consuming. I hope it is worth it, but it sounds like you really will enjoy it, especially for such a worthy cause. Happy WOYWW from number 2.
