WOYWW 212

Listen... can you hear a whizzz or a burrrrr? A buzzzz or a woosh!? (Julia has just commented that it should be an AAARRRRGGGGGH!)
There must be some sound to indicate the swift passage of a WHOLE WEEK!! Where has it gone?
Last Wednesday I posted my desk and here I am posting my desk again. Nothing in between but if you pop over to LillyBo Quilts you'll see a super post about the latest deliveries from Super Star Stitchers, Jo (Twiglet) and Annie (Wipso). It made me so happy and made my week!
Well this week it's still via the breakfast table as there's no space whatsoever on my desk in my craftroom and I haven't sat by it for ages.
Note to self... do hurry up and tidy up, missus!

To peep in on almost 200, (yeah, really) that's 200, other people's workdesks, Julia makes it possible on her blog here ...Stamping Ground
It's an unmissable treat for Wednesdays.

I've almost made another flag tag book but this one is made just for me especially as a keepsake to hold my ATC gifts from WOYWWers which we swapped in celebration of 4 years of fun and friendship.
It has brought me a plentiful return of both.
The concertina back where I added thin strips of scrapbook paper to match the covers.
It's not quite finished and I haven't decided what to add to the front cover but it will certainly include WOYWW4 and those ties will be random coloured to tone.
I must give you all a shout out for one of my bargain finds. For ages I've searched for a quality art journal, spiral bound and good paper to take paints and inks.
Look what I found in Paperchase... right by the front door on a sale table, (and they had a plentiful stock)
Perfect! Exactly to my requirements in every way, Daler Rowney, 7 x 10 pages for mixed media, good weight paper etc., but they also sold one for drawing which had  even more pages but lighterweight paper.
Best of all it was reduced from £18.50 to £9.25 and it has a paintbrush and a magnetic closure. Bargain!
Now to face the blank pages and create and it's always exciting to make the first mark in a new book!

I must share one of my little crafty gifts from one of my DDs... .It made me laugh and they certainly know me well. I am always collecting odds and ends and found items on my travels and so I was given this little tin.
and inside, a return card incase I lose it!
I wonder what tiny treasures will end up within?

  5. Hi Jo,
What a great way to store your ATCs. I think mine will just go on tapes on my cupboard doors like last years but maybe I should lake down last years and store them away like yours....would it be possible to make one to hold 30?

  8. I went to look at the quilts, I am staggered (though I shouldn't be!) by Annie and Jo's generosity with skill and time and all-round wonderfulness (I know that's not a proper word but it should be!) Love your tag book for the atc's I may have a go at a smaller one! Helen, 7

Love the book you picked up in Paperchase - too far to go sadly for me.
Good idea with the atc's from WOYWW - I have run out of those pages in a binder so might do something different myself. Thanks.
Thanks also for visiting me earlier - I was going out today but changed my ind so am now playing catch up after a morning cleaning.
    See you soon

  23. Beautiful tag book Jo, brilliant way of storing you atc treasures. I think Julia is more shocked by my continual use of the out of season "C" word than my desk, which is usually cleanish! She called me out on Friday and twice on todays woyww post, so it's obviously bothering her, lol. I think we should all endeavor to have Christmas on our desk next week!! Or is that too cruel?!!

  25. Hi Jo, love that tin, it definitely made me smile :) Your little book is fabulous and a great way of storing all the ATCs you've received. Luckily for my acquisitive streak we do not have a Paperchase in Ayrshire anymore - I can't resist notebooks but have vowed I will not buy one more until I've used up the stack I've got hoarded here first:)) Hope you've had a good WOYWW, Elizabeth x #72

  27. That's a perfect tin...but I need one 10 times bigger! Great present though :-) my kids would have bought me that as well!
Do you have any good tips for keeping the edges of ripple blankets straight? Mine tend to be like the tide...they go in and out!! I'm quite enjoying the sewing up...haven finished it and am now doing a pretty border. I'm quite proud of myself!

  32. Hi Jo! Thanks for thinking of me :) I'm well, but been lazy with blogging... Here has been a big WHOOOOMPS! ...and half a year has been gone! Lately there has been a Stockholm trip - DD2 was with us - she has also been visiting us and lives in my present crafting room, so not much crafting lately... and then was the Midsommer and now we have here in Järvenpää the Lakeside Blues Festival. And besides, it's really HOT here!

  34. The journal was a good bargain. I am late getting around.
We went to one flea market in Paris but with visiting Versaille which took one day and The Louvre another day there was not enough time.
    Have a great weekend.

  36. Wow, that is a fabulous ATC tag book , what a great idea. But the best is of course the tin "Random Crap" from your previous post. they know exactly what you love. Please put me in for the blog candy. My quote
