WOYWW 214 & Blog Candy

WOYWW? Shock, Horror, Eeek! There's quite a lot, I must confess.
(The blog candy is at the end of this post)

My desk mess has built up over the last couple of months, in between all my travels as I dumped things on there in between each trip.
I can almost hear the sharp intake of breath around the world as you see this quite exceptional melange of crafty stuff.
Well now you can heave a collective sigh of relief as you appreciate the start of my clean up. That's my handy carousel/lazy Susan with pots of essentials still to be sorted but there is an area of clear space and that's essentially enough for me to craft on at last.
Did you spot these two who look like they are up to no good!!
They'd better watch out as they are going to be altered by me one day soon.
If you're brave enough to face more desks at Julia's stamping ground, rest assured that almost all of them will be far less of a shock than mine so you can boldly go where so many others do each week.

I attended a super workshop at Vicky Stampers on Saturday when Neet of Hickdorums blog was our tutor. Neet led us through many exciting techniques for producing special effects using various forms of metal and as my desk was clear I had another little mess about with some of it.
I also filled the first page in my new art book too but it has a way to go yet.

This is my favourite example from the several pieces I made on Saturday.

Blog Candy
A couple of weeks ago I mentioned some blog candy here (in celebration of my June birthday and reaching 123,456 hits on my blog) It's still running and will close on Sunday night 15th July.

Still time to add your name, so here's another tempting glimpse of what's on offer but there will be a few more treats included and something hand made by me.
For now, there's a plate of beautifully detailed Christmas Stamps, a Crafty Individual vintage lady tag stamp, 3 rolls of washi tape, a border mask of gears, and a sheet of raised pearly dots.
The main item, to be won in the draw, is a good quality 7x10 inch Daler Rowney spiral bound multi media art journal, with magnetic clasp and a paintbrush inside.
Everyone is welcome to enter, just leave a comment to say you'd love the goodies.
There will be an extra entry for followers.

I love quotes, so if you leave me one of your favourite quotes you can have an extra entry, (and I can use your quote!) and everyone else can enjoy reading them. They're great for journalling too.

Here's one from me......
"In a world where you can be whatever you want,
be yourself!"

Please, only follow me if you are interested in popping in, now and then, because you are genuinely interested in my blog and not just because of the candy.
My intention is to give this chance of a treat as a thanks to all the people who spare time to visit my blog as I do appreciate every visit and every comment.

Hi Jo,
Do you have a magic wand? That was a quick clean up!! Oh those metals are just awesome. Yes I am a follower, follow Neet too, and would love the blog candy.
My favorite quote is: "Be the you of your soul" It has hung on the wall for a long time and I can't remember who said it. (age does that LOL)

I was blown away by how quickly you cleaned up that table. Totally awesome, as were those metal pieces. I want to learn how to make those. Incredible.

Where do I sign up for the blog candy? My favorite quote is (since I'm on a heart kick lately) "The heart wants what the heart wants." This was first attributed to Woody Allen, I think, although he is one of my least favorite actors. Have a great WOYWW from #2.

My eyes nearly popped out of their stalks at the photo of your table lol. Love that it's down to your travels and adventures of recent. I see you have a Stencil 201 book. I have the same but not sure where I came across it. Your photo has prompted me to dig it out and use. Beautiful pieces from Neet's workshop, looks like you learnt some very cool techniques. Pxx

Mess, nah, that doesn't qualify - even before scrolling down I knew you'd tidy it rather than work on top of it!
Your such a natural for the whole art book genre, I bet you've got volumes of ideas already!

I haven't put anything on my blog as yet - time to do it escapes me - from Saturday I mean. Went out yesterday and had a great time in the sun with a lovely breeze. Will blog it when it rains! Doh!
Looking forward to seeing your little books with the metal used for the covers. Hope you are as pleased with your work as I am to see it. Great squares and things there. Remember the refining I showed you on your flower and use it on the ones you can do.
Thanks for being a friend - Hugs, Neet xx 9

Wow, there is a desk under that lot, Lol. Bet you found a few things you had forgotten about too.
It looks like Neet’s class was very productive JO, I love the samples that you’ve made, especially the one with the leaf on. I recon we’ll be seeing lots of that technique from you in the coming weeks.

Happy Crafting!

Oooh, the metal bits are stunning. And such a tidy space!

Hummm, quotes. There are so many, but certainly one of my favourites is:

If you're going to be crazy, you have to get paid for it or else you're going to be locked up.

Hunter S. Thompson

Did I send that to you already? Perhaps :)

Happy WOYWW!

So much to look at! I love your art journaling page this time too--absolutely gorgeous use of colors. I don't remember if I entered--but I think I did last time. Anyway, I was excited to see you were looking for quotes, because I collect quotes! Here's a short one, but one of my faves:
"She who laughs, lasts."
--Mary Engelbreit I think we should all celebrate with you, because there's something about blogging that just makes life better! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #95

Ooops Jo. You did get a bit snowed under didn't you? It looks as though all is back to normal now though. I just love all those metal pieces. Lucky you to have classes to go to. I do miss that.
It has been too hot to even touch much crafting stuff this week, but last night we had an amazing electric storm. It started three wild fires in the area but they were almost under control by this morning, and it did clear the air a little. Kate x #42

Monique said...

That is some cleanup and the resulting pieces are great. Love the art journal page.
And as you seem to like quotes, here's one I bumped into today and immediately wrote in my little black book:

"One must be sane to think clearly, but one can think deeply and be quite insane" - Nikola Tesla.

Happy WOYWW and I wish you a wonderful week.

This is my 1st visit here, I've recently joined WOYWW, and am working on getting to know some of all you lovely ladies. What a transformation your desk went through. Mine usually looks like your 1st picture. I was reading your top post, those Orchids are awesome. I LOVE flowers. I'm also loving the Metal Art. They turned out beautiful. Lots of great stuff on your desk.
I'm now following you on Blogger and Bloglovin'. (not just because of your blog candy, but because of WOYWW, the candy is a bonus)
Here's a quote I wrote for a page I did in my Sketchbook Project journal last year:
"Sometimes life turns you upside down and carries you to places unknown… Enjoy the ride for it may take you to your DESTINY" Hope you like my quote. It's not my usual thing to make up quotes, hope youlike mine.
Have a very crafty weekend. (((HUGS)))

Those little metalwork pieces are so lovely, the colours are like butterflies or those iridescent humming birds. I possess a lazy Susan, but I would hesitate to use it for my crafting stuff as I know full well that I would spin it round too fast and send everything flying again. I would need to put an edge round it to catch all the bits. Hope you have a good week, putting things away and using lots of others. xx Maggie #10
