WOYWW & Sympathy Card

A friend asked me to make a personal card for the family of one of her oldest friends who has sadly died. The lady who died loved antique things, and was an author, and my friend did not want the usual type of condolence. I hope this fits the bill. She has a special poem to write inside.
As you will see, Julia has kindly sent me an easel which I'm thrilled to add to my desk's essentials. Thanks so much Julia, I love it!!
Here's the card in the early stages on my table and although, before I started, I fully cleared half of the table so I could actually see those strawberries on the waterproof cloth, it didn't take more than a minute to get it in "comfort mode" again. Still in use are all my essential bits and bobs but there, where it will stay, is my new easel.
Be sure to pop over to Julia's blog and have a spy at some of the other WOYWWers. Great fun!
In the top right hand corner you will see a box lid containing all the little treasures and ephemera I rescued whilst tidying the work surface. Couldn't throw them out, but can't be bothered putting so many bits away in their rightful homes so, if anyone wants the contents of that box lid... just shout out... if there are lots of shouts I'll draw for it and add a few extras too!
Still having trouble with blogger getting my comments through so bear with it, I'm not ignoring you but I hope it doesn't take long to rectify.
I found this lovely little bracelet in a pocket as I was sorting out laundry and I had forgotten that I bought it for 50p at the car boot sale. Originally acquired to pull apart as embellishments but I like it too much!

Thanks for popping in to see my mess and hope you enjoy snooping at some of the other WOYWWers

I would say that sympathy card is just perfect and so personal. You did a great job. Glad to see you put your easel to use, too. Not sure I would pull this bracelet apart, either. It's got some really nice elements in it. Happy WOYWW.

Great card, Jo - just made a couple myself but mine were very simple and deliberately so. That's really special. Great desk, too - much tidier than mine, lol. You're right, too - lovely bracelet!

What a beautiful card, Jo. Perfect for the reason it is needed. I think the usual condolence cards are so sad and this seems to celebrate the lady, which seems much better.
Your desk is gorgeous. So much creativity happening.
By the way, I'd wear that lovely bracelet too, far too nice to pull apart.
Happy Crafting

Everything here is lovely - can't believe you don't want the pile of stash at the back, I'm sure I could give it a good home!

I think the card is spot on. I also think that you've got it bad gal - 'altering' your heatgun!! I once demo'd at a shop in Kent where they'd 'altered' the kettle and the light swtiches! You got an ATG too. Gotta get me one.

That card is beautiful ...and I am sure will be loved.
What a lot of vintage things to rummage through and like you I'm sure I would keep the bracelet even though it cries out to be dismantled for embelishments.

Oooh, keep the bracelet - it's quite similar to a Pandora bracelet and they're EXPENSIVE! The sympathy card is lovely, I'm sure it'll be appreciated. As for my pie tins, you're not the only one to ask - I'll reveal all next week!

That card is lovely, it will be really appreciated. WOYWW is very big, I'm struggling to get around all the posts, but that might be because it's my first time and I'm getting distracted reading older posts on everyone's blogs, and following links in their sidebars. All wonderful stuff so it's worth the time though!
