Thanks to everyone who left comments last week to my scheduled post and huge apologies that I didn't get back to very many of you but I had escaped to Devon for the week, (as you'll see from yesterday's post,) where we had a wonderful warm and sunny, picturesque, interesting, last minute holiday. We were facing the Bristol Channel on the top of a 500 foot rock and phone and internet access was zilch. Not really a bad thing as we all get too used to the ties of mobiles and computers but I did miss being in touch with the outside world!!!
Not too much on my desk today but as a result you can see plenty of strawberries...... the piece of card in the foreground I found amongst old bits and bobs from my textile study days of many moons ago and is a technique using woodchip wallpaper. It looks so interesting and so I left it out as I might just try to remember how I did it.
Here's the reason I haven't done much paper crafting since I returned home... I'm fervently clicking the needles to finish yet another hat and I'm in the middle of a cardigan too ... all for my little grandees. Mind you, I'm going dotty sewing spots on the hat and wonder why I ever thought it would be a good idea!
I had another trip to Primani (aka Primark) yesterday with my friend Jayne during a good day mooching around our city centre shops. Two more bargain finds here... the top 4 rows are the result of pulling apart a £1 bracelet and the bottom chain with charms was another bracelet which cost £1.50. I struck gold as there are over 50 mini coins.
If you enjoyed snooping round my desk then there are many more to be found over at Julia's Stamping Ground Blog, where, every week, the crafters of the world admit all they've been up to and the status quo of where they do it.

I love the little hat, and that you knit (?) a cardigan gets my deep admiration. Your grandees are really lucky ones to have you as their grandma.
What a lovely little summer hat!
And your strawberries are always so fresh :)
Have a nice wednesday!
Hugs, Tuire

I want to know about that card! I bet it won't take you long to figure out how you made it. And of course the hat is wonderful. But I think you struck paydirt when you got that jewelry. Fabulous. Happy WOYWW from # 6.

Glad you got a holiday! Love your bargains - my Primark doesn't seem to have such offers - or maybe I am too slow!
I just had a nosey at your photos from Devon and they are beautiful. It's somewhere I've not been since I was a kid and would really love to head down there again. Thank you for sharing them :-)
Wow, more Primani bargains, how cool!
Here's to another 100 WOYWW's!!
Great finds on the bracelets! And the hat is looking soooo cute! You will be happy you have put those dots on once you get through them, they really make the hat extra cute!

I see you are busy knitting away - ha, ha love the hat with red dots, but I can understand you going dotty doing it! A very good find I must say and only one pound fifty! Great!
Lots of hugs,
Cardarian
I think Primark will become a national institute for crafters. Love all the crafts going on today!!!

That little hat is just too sweet! Thanks for the snoop :)

"Primani" lol... my daughter calls it "PriMarche" :) Your knitting is lovely! The dots are brilliant - so even though you may wish you hadn't started with them, they look adorable... Love it!
Must go get one of tbose mini coin bracelets, thanks for sharing, Shaz #112
Lots of strawbs. The little hat is a sweet one - she'll look like a little strawberry! I forget to look for the junk jewellery when I'm out and about..must learn your lesson.
Oh how I miss my trips to Primani - Rotherham when M lived there! You certainly found a few treasures there.
Great stuff !!
oh yeah, that (spots on hats), 'one looks beautiful, three looks silly, now I have to cover the damned thing' moment?
I thought it would be good to do beading round one of my dolls dresses - 4 yes, 4, hours later I'm thinking 'this is NOT commercially viable' while stupid art heart and hands just carry on sewing...
go figure,
then someone will say - oh those dolls are expensive ....
which Really Makes My Day....
I worked out that doll pays me less than a pound an hour, so I will be bankrupt soon
which is why I have yet to quit my proper jobs...
Glad you had a wonderful break in Devon. Love that spotty hat.

Wow! As always you are the queen at finding trinkets and bargains. Must tottle off to Manchester and see what I can find too. The knitted hat is adorable. The spots are worth the extra effort. Px
I do hope you remember your Wood chip method ...it looks effective. What bargains ...I think a trip to primart is called for ...l want those coins.
The bower bird in me loves the gold trinkets. The hat is cute and will be super cute with all those spots. The card using the wood chip wallpaper has really got me interested??
Cute hat! I can see why you are going dotty with all the details. Love all you buys at the pound shop. Don't have a pound key on this keyboard! Thanks for sharing. Vickie aka okienurse #36
What a sweet little bonnet. The dots are perfect. Love your finds. I am so happy when that happens to me.
Lovely to see the strawberry bed again. Your sample from your study days must be the only good reason to buy woodchip paper. After endless hours wasted scraping the stuff off walls, just the thought of it still makes me shudder. Love the sweet little bonnet - the dots are the perfect touch. You have an eye for a bargain - the jewellery pieces are great. Hope you have a great week. Elizabeth x #38
I think I need to make a trip into town to visit my Primarni store. Wonderful bargains you spied in yours. Love the spotty hat. Hugs Mrs A. #128
oooooh, I really fancy some strawberries and cream now! Fab blog! Sam :o)
